Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal defeated Qatar’s Al-Gharafa (2-0) in the match that brought them together on Monday evening, as part of the fourth round of the AFC Champions League for Elite Football.

The Saudi team’s two goals were scored by Saudi player Salem Al-Dawsari and Brazilian-Emirati player Caio in the (9th and 66th) minutes respectively.

Meanwhile, Qatari player Ayoub Mohammed scored his team's only goal as the match was drawing to a close at Thani bin Jassim Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Al Hilal achieved its fourth consecutive victory, after defeating the other Qatari duo Al Duhail (2-1) and Al Sadd (3-1) in the first and third rounds respectively, and Uzbekistan’s Nasaf Qarshi (3-2) in the second round. It tops the West Group standings of the AFC Champions League Elite Football Championship with a perfect score of 12 points.

Meanwhile, Al Gharafa suffered their third defeat against one win, leaving them with three points and occupying ninth place in the standings so far.
