The Los Angeles Lakers maintained their positive trend with a 129-119 victory over the Dallas Mavericks as Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic again produced dominant performances to extend their winning streak to six straight games in a game that marked Anthony Davis' return to Los Angeles.
The game at Crypto.com Arena took place with a different atmosphere after Davis, who had just returned from a 14-game absence due to a calf injury, received a warm welcome from the Los Angeles crowd when introduced alongside the Mavericks starters.
Reaves led the Lakers with 38 points, including six three-pointers, while Doncic added 35 points and 11 assists in their third meeting against his former team. The two combined for 36 points in the second half, which proved decisive for the Lakers.
LeBron James also played a role, despite only scoring two points in the first half. He finished with 13 points and hit a crucial three-pointer with two minutes remaining to keep the Mavericks within striking distance.
For Dallas, PJ Washington scored 22 points and Ryan Nembhard added 17. Mavericks star Max Christie scored 13 points against his former teammates. The much-hyped 2025 NBA rookie, Cooper Flagg, had 13 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds.
