Director General of the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) Alexander Sabar asked internet infrastructure service provider Cloudflare to cooperate with the government in efforts to eradicate online gambling sites or online gambling .
"Cloudflare should be the one working together. They shouldn't accept all requests for content delivery network services. If they're detrimental to Indonesia, they shouldn't accept them. This is the context of moderation; they should be filtering ," Alexander said when met in Central Jakarta on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital noted that most online gambling sites or online gambling sites handled use Cloudflare infrastructure.
Based on 10,000 online gambling sites sampled between November 1-2, 2025, more than 76 percent used Cloudflare services, including to mask IP addresses and expedite domain migrations to avoid content blocking.
He also highlighted that Cloudflare is listed as one of the 25 Electronic System Providers (PSE) that have not been registered with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology as regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 5 of 2020 concerning Private Electronic System Providers (PM Kominfo 5/2020).
