The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs prepares SATRIA-1 emergency internet in disaster areas.

The Ministry of Communication and Digital is accelerating the restoration of communications services in areas affected by flash floods in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

This effort was carried out by alerting 10 emergency internet service points based on the SATRIA-1 satellite to restore connectivity for residents who had been cut off since the disaster struck.

Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid stated that providing emergency internet access is a government priority. She emphasized the importance of SATRIA-1 as a solution when conventional communication networks are down.

"When communication networks are disrupted, SATRIA-1 acts as a savior. This way, residents can reconnect even when connectivity infrastructure is disrupted," said Meutya Hafid in an official statement.

Meutya explained that the SATRIA-1 satellite, which has been operational since last year, is designed to reach remote and hard-to-access areas, including during major disasters. She also urged the public to remain vigilant, follow the directions of officials, and utilize internet access to obtain official information from the government.
