The Ministry of Communication and Digital will close 2.4 million online gambling sites by November 2025.

The Ministry of Communication and Digital has closed down 2,458,934 million online gambling sites (judol), based on data collected from October 20, 2024, to November 2, 2025.

"From October 20, 2024, to November 2, 2025, the total number of websites and content was 2,458,934, with 2,166 sites, or something, including file sharing. This is true; sometimes file sharing doesn't always involve gambling, but we must address it," said Communications and Digital Minister Meutya Hafid at a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday.

Meutya also mentioned that there are currently over 123,000 file-sharing content items on various social media platforms. Meta has over 106,000, Google and YouTube over 41,000, X over 18,600, Telegram 1,942, TikTok 1,138, LINE 14, and App Store 3.

According to him, although the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) reported that online gambling (judol) transactions reached IDR 155 trillion in 2025, a 57 percent decrease compared to the previous year, collaboration between all parties must continue to be strengthened.

Especially when combing through sites or accounts that insert online gambling content on the platform.
