Three young athletes from the Indonesian Athletics Association (PB PASI) broke the U-18 National Record (Rekornas) in the 14th ASEAN School Games 2025 athletics competition at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, Brunei Darussalam.
Based on the PB PASI report on its official social media page which was monitored in Jakarta, Thursday, the three young athletes are Girsha Imanuela Saimima, Snandung Cinta Putri Pravia, and Lina Hisage.
Girsha Imanuela, competing in the U-18 women's 200-meter sprint, clocked a time of 24.90 seconds. The Maluku sprinter surpassed Jeany Nuraini's previous record of 24.97 seconds in 2017.
In the U-18 women's 100-meter hurdles, Kediri, East Java athlete Putri Pravia broke the national record with a time of 13.88 seconds, surpassing Dina Aulia's old record of 14.00 seconds in 2019.
Meanwhile, in the U-18 women's shot put, Papuan athlete Lina Hisage once again set a national record with a throw of 14.72 meters. This achievement surpassed her previous national record of 14.03 meters from the 2025 Student Sports Invitation and Jakarta Open.
PB PASI stated that achieving this new record confirms the progressive development of Indonesia's young athletic generation.
"This achievement opens up great hope for the development of young athletes towards higher regional and international competitions," wrote PB PASI.
