The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has set a global badminton competition calendar for 2026, featuring a packed and tiered series of tournaments, from the Super 300 level to major events such as the Thomas and Uber Cups, the World Championships, and the BWF World Tour Finals.
According to the BWF's official website on Sunday, the 2026 season will open in January with the Super 1000 Malaysia Open, which traditionally serves as the season opener and a benchmark for athlete readiness after the year-end preparation period.
After that, the series of tournaments in Asia will continue immediately without a long break.
Indonesia once again plays a significant role in the BWF calendar by hosting two major annual tournaments: the Super 500 Indonesia Masters in January and the Super 1000 Indonesia Open in June.
There are also Super 100 tournaments, considered entry-level but still earning points for the BWF World Tour. Indonesia has been awarded two BWF Tour Super 100 tournament slots in September and October 2026.
