Indonesian women's national team coach Akira Higashiyama said his team is very enthusiastic about welcoming Thailand as the opening match of the women's football branch of the 2025 SEA Games Thailand.
Thailand, which is the host team and ranked 53rd in the world, will face Indonesia tomorrow, Chonburi Stadium.
"We are very enthusiastic about participating in the 2025 SEA Games, especially since we will be facing Thailand tomorrow," Akira said during a pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
Garuda Pertiwi will have 23 players in the 2025 SEA Games, four of whom are from the diaspora. They are Iris de Rouw Emily Nahon and Isa Warps.
