The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) continues its commitment to strengthening the role of women in sports media by relaunching the She Calls Game program for the 2026 edition.
FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis explained on the FIBA website on Tuesday that this initiative opens up wider space for women to actively participate in disseminating information about basketball at the global level.
"We are thrilled to launch this next chapter of the initiative, as there are so many talented women ready to tell powerful stories about our sport," she said.
He further explained that the program is part of FIBA's strategic priority, Women in Basketball, and is designed to encourage the creation of more diverse, creative, and authentic content from various regions of the world.
FIBA believes that diverse perspectives in basketball media are important for enriching the narrative and reaching a wider audience.
Zagklis said the initiative builds on the success of the inaugural program launched in 2022, which opened opportunities for women to become commentators and photographers at a number of FIBA events.
