Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak praised his team's performance after their 3-1 victory over Borneo FC in the postponed match of the fifth week of the 2025/26 Super League at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium in Bandung City on Friday night.
Hodak assessed that the players performed surprisingly well because they were able to dominate the game from the start.
"I have to be honest, surprisingly, we played very well and dominated the entire match. In fact, I think the 3-1 scoreline is good for them (Borneo FC) because we had a lot of chances in the first half," Hodak said after the match.
The Croatian coach also praised the performance of debutant goalkeeper Fitrah Maulana and the substitutes who came on in the second half.
"Overall, all the players played well from the start. The same goes for the players who came off the bench . Young players like Fitrah and Nazriel played exceptionally, so I'm quite satisfied," he said.
Hodak admitted that he had previously predicted that the match against the league leaders would be a tight one.
In addition, he also highlighted the performance of Ramon Tanque who finally scored his first goal for Persib.
"Ramon finally scored. It was his first goal, and you could see the whole stadium was waiting for it. He's played really well in the last four or five games, but he just hasn't been able to score.
In that match, Persib achieved maximum results after being able to come back from behind.
The equalizer came in the 40th minute when Beckham Putra's precise pass was met by Ramon Tanque's header to make the score 1-1 at halftime.
Entering the second half, Persib turned the score around in the 50th minute through Luciano Guaycochea's corner kick scheme which created chaos in front of the goal which was successfully maximized by Federico Barba into a goal, making the score 2-1.
In stoppage time, precisely in the 97th minute, Persib increased their lead through cooperation from Uilliam Barros who sent a perfect pass to Saddil Ramdani to close the match with a score of 3-1.
