Jack Draper has stated that he will not compete in Australia to start the 2026 season due to an arm injury he is recovering from.
"Unfortunately, my team and I have decided not to travel to Australia this year. This is a very, very difficult decision. Obviously, Australia is a Grand Slam, it's one of the biggest tournaments in our sport," Draper said in a video he posted on his social media accounts, quoted Saturday.
"However, I've been dealing with this injury for a long time. I'm in the final stages of the process, and returning to the court in a five-set match so soon doesn't seem like a wise decision at this time for me and my tennis."
"I've definitely had a lot of setbacks so far. But this is by far the most difficult and complex I've ever experienced."
