The Japanese government will provide 1 trillion yen (around Rp106 trillion) over five years to help a planned start-up develop homegrown artificial intelligence (AI), according to a source familiar with the plan, Sunday (21/12).Kyodo reported that the company will be founded by about 10 companies, including SoftBank Group Corp., with the aim of developing Japan's largest basic AI model through public-private sector cooperation.
The five-year support scheme is scheduled to begin in fiscal year 2026, which begins in April next year.
