Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham were named the NBA's Most Valuable Players for October and November in the Western and Eastern Conferences, respectively.
The NBA website announced Thursday that Jokic led Denver to a 14-5 (win-loss) record at the start of the season, averaging a triple-double of 28.9 points per game (ppg), 12.4 rebounds per game (rpg), and 10.9 assists per game (apg).
The Serbian also recorded four consecutive triple-doubles to open the season, tying Oscar Robertson for the most at the start of a season.
In the Eastern Conference, Cunningham led the Pistons to a season-best 16-4 record throughout October and November.
The 23-year-old guard averaged 28.8 points per game (PPG), 9.4 points per game (APG), and 6.4 role-playing (RPG) in 18 games. He also scored a career-high 46 points in a single game while leading Detroit to an overtime victory over the Washington Wizards on November 10.
