La Liga standings: Barcelona slowly pulls away from Real Madrid
Defending Spanish League champions Barcelona are slowly pulling away from their main rivals Real Madrid at the top of the standings, after securing their 11th win of the season.

The Blaugrana won 3-1 against their visitors Alaves on Sunday (30/11) which took them to the top of the standings with 34 points.

Real Madrid, who played early Monday morning (December 1st) WIB, failed to secure a win against Girona. Los Blancos could only manage a 1-1 draw and are currently stuck in second place in the standings with 33 points.

Villarreal extended their winning streak to five in a row in La Liga with a 3-2 victory at Real Sociedad. The Yellow Submarine now sits third in the standings with 32 points.

Like Villarreal, fourth-placed Atletico Madrid also managed to continue their good run in Week 14. Atletico won 2-0 over Oviedo to firmly hold fourth place with 31 points.

Fifth-placed Real Betis ended their winless streak in Week 14. Betis won 2-0 at regional rivals Sevilla, moving up to 24 points. Meanwhile, Espanyol, in sixth place and the final European spot, also secured a win in Week 14, winning 1-0 at Celta Vigo.

Girona's draw with Real Madrid was the only positive result for the bottom three teams. Nineteenth-placed Levante suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, losing 2-0 to Athletic Club, while bottom-placed Oviedo was defeated by Atletico.
