Lens reclaims top spot in Ligue 1 after PSG lose to Monaco
RC Lens took the top spot in the French League standings after a 2-1 win at Angers SCO, while Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat to AS Monaco at the Stade Louis-II in the 14th week of the 2025/2026 Ligue 1 season.

AS Monaco was in the spotlight after Takumi Minamino's solitary goal secured a crucial victory for the hosts. Previously leading PSG were knocked off the top of the table after failing to break the deadlock throughout the match.

Lens capitalized on that momentum with a solid away performance. A 2-1 victory over Angers moved them to 31 points, one point ahead of PSG. Lens' consistency was evident in their four consecutive wins leading up to this week's match.

In Marseille, Olympique de Marseille failed to maintain their lead and were held to a 2-2 draw against Toulouse FC. This result keeps them in third place with 29 points. Lille (LOSC) also picked up three points after a narrow 1-0 win at Le Havre.

Olympique Lyonnais was one of the standout teams this week. Their convincing 3-0 victory over FC Nantes could signal a revival after a shaky start to the season. This result lifted Lyon to sixth place.

Meanwhile, in the middle and bottom half of the table, Rennes secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Metz, while Strasbourg dropped points again after losing 2-1 to Brest. The relegation zone remains unchanged, with Metz and Auxerre remaining in 17th and 18th place, respectively.
