Google has released a list of the keywords most frequently used by its search engine users in Indonesia during 2025.
Google Indonesia Communications Manager Feliciana Wienatahan said that there are two additional special categories in Google's popular search list this year.
"This year, just like previous years, we're launching eight categories. But this year, we're expanding the scope further by introducing two special categories, specifically for running and padel," he said at the Year in Search 2025 report presentation .
According to him, this year there are four prominent trends in searches on Google.
The first trend, he explained, is that searches in the music category show that people are increasingly appreciating the culture and work of domestic musicians.
"We see the voice of Eastern Indonesia or Eastern Indonesian culture growing, increasingly appreciated, a sign that regional pride can increasingly be extended to the national level," said Feliciana.
The second prominent trend, he said, relates to people's interest in learning new things about technology and finance.
According to him, people's desire to know things related to technology and finance is increasing from year to year.
For example, the keywords "how to pronounce QRIS?" and "what is Coretax?" are frequently searched by Google users in Indonesia.
The third prominent trend concerns sports.
Running and padel are sports that are of interest to many people in Indonesia during 2025. Throughout this year, topics about running and padel were widely searched on Google.
