The World Boxing Council (WBC) has released the latest update on the list of world champions across all weight classes, following the success of Japanese boxer Naoya “The Monster” Inoue in retaining his junior featherweight (55.3 kilogram) title after winning a unanimous decision of 12 rounds over Alan Picasso of Mexico at the Mohammed Abdo Arena, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
According to the WBC's official website on Tuesday, the victory further solidifies Inoue's position as one of the most dominant boxers in the world today. In addition to the WBC belt, Inoue also holds the WBA Super, IBF, and WBO world titles in the same weight class.
In the heavyweight division, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk remains the WBC champion after winning the title from Tyson Fury via a 12-round split decision in Riyadh on May 18, 2024.
Usyk then recorded a fifth-round knockout victory over IBF champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium, London, on July 19, 2025, which made him the undisputed champion with five world belts before relinquishing the WBO title.
In the cruiserweight class, Noel Mikaelyan was recorded as the WBC champion after completing 12 rounds against Badou Jack in Los Angeles in December 2025. The interim title for this class is held by Michael Cieslak from Poland.
In the light heavyweight division, David Benavidez of the United States remains the champion after defeating Oleksandr Gvozdyk on June 16, 2024. He then successfully defended his title in his next two fights against David Morrel on February 1, 2025, and Anthony Yarde on November 22, 2025.
Carlos Adames of the Dominican Republic is the middleweight champion, while Sebastian Fundora leads the junior middleweight division. At welterweight, Mario Barrios still holds the WBC world title.
A number of big names also fill the list of champions in the lower classes, including Shakur Stevenson (lightweight), O'Shaquie Foster (junior lightweight), and Jesse Rodriguez who dominates the junior bantamweight.
In the bantamweight class, Takuma Inoue, Naoya Inoue's younger brother, was recorded as the champion after winning over Tenshin Nasukawa.
In the flyweight division, Ricardo Sandoval captured the WBC belt from Kenshiro Teraji and also retained the WBA title, while Galal Yafai was named interim champion.
In the mini flyweight division, Melvin Jerusalem of the Philippines still maintains his status as WBC world champion.
