Apple's Vice President of Human Interface Design, Alan Dye, known as a key figure behind the look and feel of Apple's product interfaces, has been officially hired by Meta.
As reported by Engadget on Thursday, at Meta, Alan will reportedly work under Chief Technology Officer Andrew Bosworth as the new studio leader responsible for hardware, software, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based product design.
The studio will also be staffed by a number of prominent design figures, including former Apple designer Billy Sorrentino, Meta interface design lead Joshua To, an industrial design team led by Pete Bristol, and a metaverse design and art team under Jason Rubin.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that the new studio will bring together design, fashion, and technology to create a new generation of Meta products. He emphasized that artificial intelligence will be treated as a new, abundant, and human-centered design resource.
