Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid firmly urged all levels of society, especially parents, to adopt the principle of "Wait for Children to be Ready" before introducing children to the digital world.
"Our main message is simple yet crucial: Wait until your child is ready, Tunas. Make sure your child is truly ready, both in terms of age, mental maturity, and adequate support before they enter the digital world," said Meutya in her message delivered during the "Building a Child-Friendly Digital Space" discussion in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The invitation was conveyed as part of the government's commitment to implementing Government Regulation (PP) Number 17 of 2025 concerning Child Protection in Digital Space, also known as PP Tunas.
"PP Tunas is not here to hinder progress, but rather as a manifestation of the state's concern and a concrete manifestation of President Prabowo's concern for the future of the nation's children," Meutya added.
