PBVSI prepares salary cap regulations to address the decline in Proliga participants
The Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI) is preparing a salary cap regulation to address the decline in the number of teams participating in the Proliga competition that has occurred in recent years.

PBVSI Chairman Imam Sudjarwo said the implementation of the salary cap rule will set a maximum limit on the total salaries of players, both national and international, with the aim of encouraging more teams to participate in the Proliga.

"We've already made a regulation that we'll implement this salary cap in 2027. Of course, we'll lower the salary cap . It won't be a significant blow to athletes' salaries, both national and international, but we're trying to ensure that middle-class groups can participate," Imam said at the 2026 Proliga press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

The 2026 Proliga will feature 12 teams, consisting of five men's teams and seven women's teams. In comparison, the 2023 Proliga featured 14 clubs, consisting of eight men's teams and six women's teams.
