PBVSI replaces men's national volleyball team coach after failing to win gold at SEA Games

The Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI) has decided to replace the coach of the men's national volleyball team after failing to win a gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.

PBVSI Chairman Imam Sudjarwo said the coaching changes were made as part of a comprehensive evaluation, although he acknowledged that the players' performance had been optimal.

"We'll evaluate it, and I'll replace my coach in the future. Starting this year, I'll replace the coach who was in charge of the SEA Games, and I'll immediately dismiss him," Imam said.

"Our evaluation is that next year we will be using a new coach from Brazil, so for the 2026 national team, we will have a new coaching formula from Brazil."

The Indonesian men's national volleyball team had to settle for a silver medal after losing 3-2 to Thailand in the final at the Hua Mak Indoor Stadium in Bangkok on Friday (19/12). This result ended Indonesia's streak of three consecutive gold medals at the previous SEA Games.
