Purbaya admits Coretax registration is still experiencing problems
Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the Coretax system has not yet been fully functioning optimally.

The Minister of Finance acknowledged that there were still disruptions that made it difficult for some users to access the tax system.

In a media briefing in Jakarta, Wednesday, Purbaya said that in the last few days he had received a number of direct complaints from users who were unable to enter the Coretax system.

"So, it's likely that the procedure is a bit complicated, or something is missing, or the replacement email is complicated. I'll check with the tax people later," he said.

According to him, Coretax's main obstacle lies in the complexity of the administrative stages, including the registration process and the use of email, which are considered confusing.

Therefore, he asked the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) to improve assistance to taxpayers (WP) and prepare simpler and easier-to-understand technical instructions.

The Minister of Finance gave an example, the use of Coretax at tax service offices (KPP) is running relatively smoothly, because taxpayers receive direct assistance from officers.

This shows that the system can actually be implemented, but still requires streamlining the flow and wider socialization, especially for users outside the KPP.

Furthermore, regarding system management, the Minister of Finance stated that Coretax is no longer under the management of the LG CNS-Qualysoft consortium.

According to him, the main focus at this time is optimizing and perfecting the system that has been handed over to the government.

Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations of the Directorate General of Taxes, Rosmauli, stated that as of December 31, 2025, at 16:20 WIB, the number of taxpayer accounts activated in the Coretax system reached 11,034,775 accounts.

Of the total, the majority are individual taxpayers with 10,131,253 accounts, followed by corporate taxpayers with 814,932 accounts, and government agencies with 88,369 accounts.

In addition, 221 electronic trading (PMSE) players were recorded as having registered by the end of December 2025.
