Telkomsel and Amazon Web Services (AWS), through the "Skilled in the Cloud 2.0" program, have created hundreds of talents with disabilities through training in cloud computing technology and generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI) for 295 students with disabilities and 85 educators from 33 Special Needs Schools (SLB) in Greater Bandung.
"We want Indonesia's young generation to master digital competencies, including Gen AI and Cloud, because these are the keys to the future. This program is part of Telkomsel's vision to ensure inclusivity and give back to customers and communities in need," said Telkomsel President Director Nugroho in an official statement .
This program is part of Telkomsel's philanthropic social responsibility (CSR) initiative "Connect Smiles," which focuses on sharing happiness and hope for better days and a brighter future.
Since October 17, 2025, program participants have received intensive training covering the basics of cloud computing to understand modern internet infrastructure, website creation for designing (UI/UX) and building static websites .
There is also Generative AI that uses AWS PartyRock for AI-based applications with simple coding, as well as certification for 50 selected educators who took the AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials advanced training and received certification exam vouchers for the continuity of teaching in schools.
Additionally, all participating schools receive 12 months of access to AWS Skill Builder to support ongoing learning.
Overall, the program has empowered 750 inclusive digital talents through two phases.
In phase 1 (2023-2024) there were 370 participants in 20 SLB in Jabodetabek, which resulted in 35 website projects. Meanwhile, in phase 2 (2025) there were 380 participants in 33 SLB in Greater Bandung (Bandung City, Bandung Regency, West Bandung, and Cimahi), with a total of 50 website projects.
Head of BDM, Training, and Certification at AWS Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand Yashinta Bahana said that since 2017, AWS has trained Cloud and Gen AI skills for one million Indonesian digital talents, ranging from beginner students to experienced professionals.
