The Indonesian contingent wore traditional Indonesian clothing during the parade at the opening ceremony of the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand at Rajamangala Stadium on Sunday evening.
Two flag bearers, Robi Syanturi and Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi, led the procession wearing traditional clothing from the two regions.
Robi appeared wearing a ulos and a traditional North Sumatran headband, while Megawati wore a white kebaya combined with a tapis cloth and a typical Lampung siger crown.
Their presence caught the attention of the audience when the Indonesian contingent entered the opening arena with 69 athletes from six sports.
Indonesian athletes and officials also wore traditional clothing from various regions, adding color to the parade of participating countries.
Indonesian Team Chef de Mission Bayu Priawan Djokosoetono previously said the performance was part of an effort to introduce Indonesia's rich culture on the international stage.
