Athlete Gischa Zayana added another gold medal from the boccia sport for the Indonesian contingent after winning the final match of the women's singles BC2 event against compatriot Intan Cahaya Putri at Chatchai Hall, Thailand, Friday.
Gischa bagged her second boccia gold medal after narrowly beating Intan in a tight match that ended with a score of 4-3.
Before meeting in the final, the two athletes in Group A had met in the group stage, which Gischa won with a score of 3-2.
Gischa won all their group stage matches. After defeating Intan, Gischa defeated Laos' Louanglat Viengsing 10-0.
Meanwhile, Intan also bounced back from her first defeat by silencing host Thailand's Bandi Sunita 6-0 in the preliminary round.
Both Indonesian representatives then advanced to the semifinals and achieved impressive results to secure their place in the title match. Gischa defeated Thailand's Phromsiri Satanan 3-1, and Intan defeated Malaysia's Avrinda Anis 6-3.
