The Vietnam and Thailand national futsal teams qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup after defeating their opponents in their second Group B match at the Jakarta International Velodrome.
Vietnam, coached by Diego Giustozzi, won their second match against Lebanon thanks to goals from Dinh Cong Vien and Vu Ngoc Anh.
Vietnam's two goals came early in the match, starting in the first minute when Dinh Cong Vien met Nguyen Thinh Phat's pass to beat Lebanese goalkeeper Karim Jouedi.
The 2016 Asian Futsal Cup semifinalists increased their lead in the third minute through Vu Ngoc Anh. His first shot was saved by Jouedi, but he calmly pounced on the rebound and tapped it into an empty net.
Vietnam were reduced to four men six minutes into the second half when Duong Ngoc Linh received a second yellow card for an incident outside of play with Al Rahman Sous.
Despite playing against a team missing a player, Lebanon failed to capitalize on it.
Vietnam's victory was followed by fellow Southeast Asian team Thailand, who thrashed Kuwait 6-1.
