The Iraqi national futsal team secured its second win in Group A of the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup after defeating South Korea 3-2 at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta on Thursday.
South Korea started the match positively after getting chances from Choi Hyun-bin and Eom Si-jun which were blocked by Iraqi goalkeeper Hussein Ahmed.
Salim Faisal, who starred for Iraq in their 4-2 win over Kyrgyzstan in the first leg, had a few chances, but his accuracy was not at its best in the first half.
Iraq almost took the lead in the 16th minute when Tareq Zeyad unleashed a long-range shot, but goalkeeper Jeong Joo-hoo denied him.
The goal Iraq was looking for finally came four minutes later in the 20th minute through Majed's penalty.
South Korea started the second half well as Gun-woo got his name on the scoresheet, after tapping in Kim Min-seong's cross seconds after the restart.
