Group A standings: Indonesia wins, advances to the quarter-finals
The Indonesian national futsal team advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2026 Futsal Asian Cup after defeating Kyrgyzstan 5-3 in their second Group A match at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, Thursday.

This achievement equals Indonesia's best performance in the Futsal Asia Cup, when it reached the quarterfinals of the 2022 edition in Kuwait.

Indonesia scored five more goals, but they faced stiff resistance from Kyrgyzstan, who took the lead in the 6th minute through Makhmadaminov Sokhrukh.

Indonesia equalized a minute later through captain Iqbal Iskandar who capitalized on a mistake by the Kyrgyzstan goalkeeper.

In the 12th minute, Indonesia turned the game around to take a 2-1 lead after being awarded a penalty. Firman Ardiansyah, the executioner, completed the task admirably.

The third goal came in the 25th minute through Rio Pangestu, who converted a perfect pass from Ardiansyah Nur. However, Indonesia's two-goal lead was short-lived. Kyrgyzstan leveled the score at 3-3 with two quick goals from Makhmadaminov Sokhrukh's low shot and Alimov Maksat's penalty.

But Indonesia quickly equalized. Playing more cohesively, Ardiansyah Nur gave the Garuda a 4-3 lead in the 29th minute, before Israr Megantara sealed the victory in the 34th minute.
