The Indonesian national futsal team secured a ticket to the quarterfinals of the 2026 Futsal Asian Cup after winning 5-3 over Kyrgyzstan in the 2026 Futsal Asian Cup Group A match at the Indonesia.
This victory puts Indonesia at the top of Group A with six points and a seven-goal margin. Iraq is in second place with six points and a three-goal margin.
Kyrgyzstan and South Korea, who failed to score a single point in their two group stage matches, were already eliminated.
The match between Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan was a tense affair from the start. Kyrgyzstan broke the deadlock in the seventh minute when Makhmadaminov Shokhrukh's shot sailed into the Indonesian net.
Kyrgyzstan's lead lasted only a minute. In the eighth minute, Indonesian captain Mochamad Iqbal headed the ball into the net, leveling the score at 1-1.
A Kyrgyzstan player's handball in the penalty area led to the referee awarding a penalty. Firman Adriansyah, the executioner, duly dispatched the penalty, making it 2-1 to Indonesia.
