The Indonesian cricket team broke a world record after recording the highest number of T20I matches in a single calendar year.
The Indonesian Cricket Association (PP PCI) confirmed that the Indonesian national team has completed 45 official Men's T20I matches throughout the 2025 calendar year.
The PCI's "world record" status refers to a public comparison table on ESPNcricinfo Statsguru for Men's T20Is with the parameter "By year of match start" and sorted by matches played. On that reference page, Indonesia (2025) is at the top: Indonesia (45), followed by Rwanda (42) (2023), Bahrain (41), India (40), and Austria (36). Pakistan recorded 34 matches in 2025.
"The 45 T20I matches in a year are the result of measurable work, from operations to high-performance strategies, aimed at accelerating match experience, deepening the squad, and building international readiness," PCI Chairman Abhiram Singh Yadav said in an official statement on Thursday.
Of the 45 matches, Indonesia recorded 24 wins, 19 losses, no ties, and 2 matches with no result (NR) status.
Abhiram emphasized that PCI's work direction aligns with the national development vision. Going forward, PCI will strengthen its system, including streamlined competitions, high-performance programs, and a measurable international calendar.
