Indonesia–India strengthen collaboration to promote an inclusive AI ecosystem  The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Communication and Digital, is promoting the development of inclusive artificial intelligence (AI) by strengthening collaboration with India.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital (Wamenkomdigi) Nezar Patria stated that the partnership was built on the foundation of the potential growth of the digital economy in India and Indonesia, which is an opportunity to implement AI solutions.

Indonesia's digital economy, Nezar said, is projected to reach a gross merchandise value of around US$330 billion by 2030, driven by a rapidly growing market and young demographics, while India's digital economy is on track to reach US$1 trillion by 2030.

"This parallel growth isn't just a matter of scale. It represents a significant shared opportunity to implement AI solutions that address challenges ranging from financial inclusion to climate resilience," said Deputy Minister Nezar Patria in his remarks at the AI ​​Pre-Summit 2026 event 

Nezar stated that this dialogue represents a concrete step, highlighting the importance of strengthening commitment to Sovereign AI amidst the geopolitical dynamics of global AI, in the spirit of Global South cooperation.
