  Para archer Kholidin won the gold medal in the men's single recurve archery event at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games in the final against fellow Indonesian athlete Setiawan at Mook Stadium Field, Thailand, on Friday.

Kholidin won the duel with his teammates in the final round with a final score of 7-3.

The 48-year-old athlete progressed smoothly from the round of 16 to defeating Vietnamese representative Tran Van Quan in the quarter-finals.

In the semifinals, Kholidin asserted his dominance when he defeated Malaysian representative Muhammad Azaruddin Bin Mat with a convincing score of 6-0 to secure a place in the final.

Likewise, Setiawan opened his journey from the round of 16 with a victory over Thailand's representative Prasoet Thotsaphon 6-2.

Setiawan's victory continued when he finished the quarter-finals by overcoming the resistance of Malaysian representative Nurfaizal Bin Hamzah with a score of 6-4.

In the semifinals, Setiawan again secured a 6-2 victory over Malaysia's Suresh Selvatamby to advance to the final. However, in the title match, Setiawan lost to his teammate Kholidin, who emerged victorious.

Kholidin presented the first gold medal in the para archery event for the Indonesian contingent, which is currently ranked second in the 2025 APG standings. The para archery team has the opportunity to add gold in the men's doubles recurve event, competing in the final against Malaysian representatives.
