Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid expressed her commitment to expanding fast, high-quality internet services at affordable prices, targeting access to 10.8 million households by 2030.
Meutya said that low-cost internet services using Broadband Wireless Access ( BWA) technology on the 1.4 GHz radio frequency band are currently ready to operate in stages.
"We are currently preparing for affordable, high-quality 1.4 GHz internet for 2025 and are ready to operate in stages, with a commitment to serving 10.8 million homes by 2030," said Meutya in a working meeting with Commission I of the House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex.
Meanwhile, for 2026, the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) is targeting 1.99 million households to benefit from low-cost internet services.
During the meeting, Meutya also explained that 4G network services have reached 98.95 percent of Indonesia's population. Meanwhile, 5G network services have reached 6.33 percent of residential areas in Indonesia.
