The National Domino Sports Federation (Orado) is preparing a series of work agendas for the near future, including the implementation of the National Championship (Kejurnas) and the development of domino athletes in the regions following the inauguration of Provincial Administrators throughout Indonesia in Jakarta on Wednesday."We've already appointed the provincial and district officials. We've inaugurated them. We hope the district officials will select athletes from the provincial officials, and then move on to the provincial officials, and then hold a national championship," said Orado Chairman Yooky Tjahrial after the Orado National Declaration.
He explained that the tiered system was designed to filter domino athletes nationally.
Regarding the timing of the National Championship, Yooky confirmed that the event would be held this year. "This year, it has to be this year," he said when asked about the target for the Orado National Championship.
Yooky stated that Orado's immediate agenda begins with the National Working Meeting, which will be held immediately after the inauguration of the board. "The National Working Meeting is definitely tomorrow. We're also holding referee training tomorrow, because that's very important," he said.
Additionally, Orado will prioritize the dissemination of regulations and competition rules. According to Yooky, uniformity of rules is a crucial foundation for building a structured domino competition.
"From there, we'll provide a schedule to the provincial government for holding championships. So, these will be mandatory championships," he said.
Nevertheless, he continues to encourage regions to actively organize tournaments independently. "Of course, I hope provincial governments will also compete to organize tournaments," said Yooky.
Previously, Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir appreciated the formation of Orado and also the inauguration of the Provincial Management which was followed by a National Working Meeting.
Erick hopes that Orado can make dominoes a new driving force for the development of the sports industry in Indonesia, which will have an impact on improving the national economy through the sports sector.
The Minister of Youth and Sports also advised that there should be no organizational dualism in the domino sport to avoid internal conflict and stagnant achievements.
