Professor Vera Larina, head of the outpatient department at the Institute of Clinical Medicine at Pirogov University, stated that fluctuations in solar activity pose a risk of cardiovascular disease

She says: “In recent years, scientists have focused their efforts on studying the impact of climatic factors, including increased electromagnetic radiation and fluctuations in solar activity, on human health. The negative impact of these factors on the body’s metabolism, blood clotting balance (hemostasis), and blood lipid levels, which is the main risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases, has been confirmed .”

According to her, numerous studies have shown that changes in solar activity affect the human body, manifesting in the response of the adrenal cortex and increased activity of the autonomic nervous system. The cardiovascular system is also affected, particularly in those with hypertension, ischemic heart disease, chronic heart failure, and atrial fibrillation, and blood clotting disturbances are observed.

The condition of patients with chronic diseases may worsen, as the presence of risk factors such as smoking, lack of movement, lipid metabolism disorder, and obesity exacerbates the effect of external factors, leading to a deterioration in health indicators.
