Indonesian national team defender Rizky Ridho believes that Group A of the 2026 ASEAN Cup, which includes the Garuda team, is not an easy group, even though it includes Cambodia and the playoff winners of Timor Leste or Brunei Darussalam.
The 2026 ASEAN Cup group draw held in Jakarta on Thursday placed Indonesia in Group A. Besides Cambodia and Timor Leste or Brunei Darussalam, the group also features defending champions Vietnam and Singapore.
"This isn't an easy group. We'll certainly work even harder to achieve our goals. The Indonesian people are eagerly awaiting this, as we've only been runners-up six times. God willing, we can win the trophy with the new coach," Ridho said after the group draw at MNC Studio in Jakarta on Thursday.
Despite admitting that Indonesia's group is not an easy one, the Persija Jakarta player is quite optimistic that under the guidance of the new Indonesian national team coach, John Herdman, his team can advance to the final phase.
