Minister of Investment and Downstream Development and CEO of Danantara Indonesia Rosan Roeslani stated that 600 Danantara residential units will be handed over to the regional government on January 8, 2026, as part of the accelerated post-disaster response in the Sumatra region.
"We will hand over 600 units of the Danantara Housing Complex to the regional government on January 8," Rosan said in a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto, which was monitored via a live YouTube broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat .
In addition to housing, Danantara also provides various supporting facilities to ensure the quality of life for disaster-affected communities.
The facilities provided include a playground, Wi-Fi network, prayer room, 14 public kitchen units, and 120 toilet and bathroom units.
Rosan explained that this residence was built on land owned by PTPN (State-Owned Enterprises), which had undergone a land clearing process . Each unit is approximately 22 square meters, measuring approximately 4.5 x 4.5 meters, thus meeting the standards for decent housing.
Furthermore, Rosan said the government has a target of completing 15,000 houses spread across three provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
"The plan is that within the next three months, God willing, we can complete 15,000 houses divided across three provinces: approximately 12,000 units in Aceh, approximately 2,000 units in South Tapanuli and Central Tapanuli, and 500 units in West Sumatra," explained Rosan.
He said the construction of the Danantara Housing Complex was part of the government's efforts to ease the burden on communities affected by the disaster, while preparing for the next steps towards permanent housing.
"We can accelerate all existing development projects, so that the Danantara residential development is what we call proper, civilized, and/or civilized ," he concluded.
