SPUN expands AI-based visa infrastructure in Southeast Asia
Artificial intelligence (AI)-based travel service startup SPUN has closed a seed funding round of US$1.8 million, or around Rp30.4 billion, to expand its AI-based visa processing infrastructure in Southeast Asia.

"Visas are often considered merely an administrative matter, but they are actually the biggest source of anxiety in international travel," said SPUN CEO and Co-Founder Christa Sabathaly in a written statement on Monday.

Christa explained that SPUN started its services from processing inbound and outbound visas as the foundation of cross-country mobility services.

Unlike conventional visa agents who still rely on manual processes, SPUN has developed AI technology specifically to help individual applicants and business partners navigate the frequently changing and varying visa requirements of each country.

Through automation and process standardization, the SPUN system is designed to be more streamlined, consistent, and reliable.

"Both individual applicants and companies applying for visas in large numbers face the same challenges. With a single system that can be used by both, we aim to make the visa application process more secure and easier to expand to multiple countries," said Christa.

He added that in less than a year, SPUN has helped more than 200 companies and thousands of individual applicants process visas more easily and reliably.
