The Bahtsul Masail Forum for Kiai from West Java and DKI Jakarta held a meeting at the Kempek Islamic Boarding School in Cirebon to discuss a number of hot issues within the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU).One of the things discussed at the meeting was the matter of accelerating the congress to quickly restore the good name of PBNU.
"The kiai have voiced their support for the acceleration of the congress," said Kiai Muhammad Shofy Bin Mustofa Aqiel, the caretaker of the Kempek Islamic Boarding School, in his statement.
According to him, the reason why the congress must be accelerated is based on the Islamic jurisprudence principle that "rejecting harm must be prioritized over seeking benefit."
"The ongoing damage must be avoided immediately by accelerating the conference," said Shofy.
Shofy believes that polarization or social divisions are currently emerging within NU members. According to him, this is very noticeable and visible on social media, and social interactions are experiencing tensions.
