The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched the Madiun City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) Office, East Java, in connection with an investigation into an alleged extortion case involving the inactive Madiun Mayor, Maidi.
In addition, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) also searched the home of the Head of the DPMPTSP, Sumarno. The two searches were conducted on Thursday.
Reporters at the location reported that the KPK team came to the DPMPTSP office on Jalan Mayjend Panjaitan, Madiun City, with four black Toyota Innova cars at around 09.00 WIB and left the location at around 18.00 WIB.
When leaving the location, officers carried a large suitcase which was suspected of containing documents regarding permits.
It is suspected that the document is related to evidence needed by investigators to help uncover the alleged corruption case involving project fees and CSR funds as well as other receipts, or gratuities within the Madiun City Government.
