Do not slip on rocks or burn your feet on hot sand: the Méduse plastic sandal, which has left its mark on generations of children, is celebrating its 75th anniversary and remains made in France, from where it is exported with success abroad.
"I don't think I've seen a customer who doesn't talk to me about their vacations and their childhood, when we talk about the Medusa, that's what's great, is that we spend more time discuss our personal memories, as well as the product itself", enthuses Anne-Céline Humeau, CEO of thehumeau-beaupréau company.
Since its creation in 1946, this sandal "has not evolved in its form at all", recognizable as "its rounded toe, braided straps and spiked sole"and"it is precisely its timeless side that people are looking for", continues Ms. Humeau, who sells some 500,000 pairs per year.
