The PKH Task Force regains control of PT AKT's mining land in Central Kalimantan.
The Forest Area Regulation Task Force (PKH Task Force) has successfully regained control of 1,699 hectares of land used as a mining area by PT AKT in Murung Raya Regency, Central Kalimantan (Kalteng).

Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna, in Jakarta, Thursday, said the step was taken following the revocation of the operational permit or Coal Mining Business Work Agreement (PKP2B) through the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Number 3714 K/30/MEN/2017 dated October 19, 2017.

Based on the verification results, he said, the PKH Task Force found a number of fundamental violations. The first concerned licensing.

"The operational permit was revoked in 2017 because PT AKT used the PKP2B as collateral for debt without the approval of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

Next, there's illegal activity. He stated that PT AKT is suspected of continuing mining until December 15, 2025, without reporting its Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) to the relevant authorities.

In addition, the company faces a potential fine of Rp4.2 trillion.

"This value is calculated from the mining fine of Rp. 354 million per hectare," he said.

Meanwhile, based on field monitoring, it was recorded that there were more than 130 operational vehicles and heavy equipment units currently under supervision.

Meanwhile, PKH Task Force Spokesperson Barita Simanjuntak revealed that it is possible that criminal law enforcement measures will be taken against legal subjects who are strongly suspected of committing violations.

"Currently, security at the location has been tightened, involving 65 joint personnel from Yon TP 883 and Kodim 1013/Muara Teweh to ensure a conducive situation during the ongoing legal process," he said.
