Indonesian female para-athletic athlete Tiwa burst into tears after winning the gold medal in the women's 1,500-meter final in the T11, T13, and T20 classifications at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games in Thailand.
In the race at the 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium, Nakhon Ratchasima, on Wednesday night, the 29-year-old athlete managed to beat Orawan Kaising and Prawatto Phaewa from Thailand, who were ranked second and third respectively.
"Many people underestimated my abilities, and today I was able to prove myself and contribute to the gold medal," said Tiwa, sobbing.
