Ubed challenges Loh in the second round of the Indonesia Masters
Indonesian men's singles badminton player Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah will challenge Singapore's Loh Kean Yew in the second round of the 2026 Indonesia Masters at Istora, Senayan.

Ubed, as he is familiarly known, advanced to the second round after defeating Indian singles player Kiran George in two straight games 21-17, 21-14.

"Even though I've won before, I can't let my guard down," Ubed said in a press conference after the match at Istora, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday.

The world number 46 men's singles player has a positive record after defeating Loh in their first meeting at the 2025 SEA Games.

However, Ubed admitted that he couldn't underestimate Loh and would prepare a strategy to overcome the 2021 world champion's playing style.

"For tomorrow's second round, we probably need to improve our recovery and physical fitness," said Ubed, who also won the 2025 Indonesia Masters II last year.

Ubed hopes to give his best and set a target of at least qualifying for the quarterfinals of this BWF Super 500 event.

"Yes, my personal goal is to reach the quarterfinals. I've discussed it with the coach, and that's the goal. Hopefully, I can achieve it, or even surpass it," said Ubed.
