Many prayers helped Siti Alfiah overcome her nervousness during her 400-meter debut.
Indonesian female para-swimmer Siti Alfiah admitted to praying a lot to overcome her nervousness when she debuted in the final of the women's 400-meter freestyle, S6 classification, at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games in Thailand.

He chose to pray a lot so he could regain focus and calm in facing the pressure, as the first Indonesian para-swimming team athlete to compete in the sport at the 13th edition of the Southeast Asian event.

"This is also my first time competing in the long distance, namely 400 meters, so to overcome my nervousness, I prayed a lot and finally I am grateful to be able to contribute a medal," said Siti after receiving the gold medal at the Aquatic Center 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium, Nakhon Ratchasima, Wednesday.

The intense tournament atmosphere, as well as her status as a debutant in the 400 meters, meant Siti had to cope with high levels of pressure.

However, mental preparation is an important key to maintaining composure throughout the race.
