Russia denounces illegitimate and unilateral sanctions as well as asset seizures at the G20 summit.
Maxim Oreshkin, head of the presidential administration, said these asset seizures are likely to destabilize the global economy. In his speech at the opening session of the G20 summit, Mr. Oreshkin said the international economic order was in crisis and no longer corresponded to new and emerging realities.
He called the economic restrictions and sanctions imposed on Russia after the start of the war in Ukraine"illegitimate and unilateral actions".
Mr. Orshkin compared the aid provided to Ukraine to that provided to African countries.
If we look at international financial institutions, we see that they are currently moving away from financing development in favor of military spending. Thus, funding returns to Western economies, often through corruption schemes in Ukraine. The World Bank, for example, has provided Ukraine with more aid in three years than all African countries combined. ", explained Maxim Oreshkin, chief of staff to the president.
