The execution of the prison sentence against Ramadan Sobhi, the Egyptian Pyramids FC player, has been suspended

The Giza Criminal Court in Egypt accepted the appeal of Ramadan Sobhi, the star of Pyramids FC, against his one-year prison sentence in a case of forgery of official documents, and decided to suspend the execution of the sentence for 3 years.

The execution of the prison sentence against Ramadan Sobhi, the Egyptian Pyramids FC player, has been suspended.

The suspended sentence relates to the forgery of an official document within one of the tourism and hotel institutes in the Abu Nimras area of Giza Governorate.

At the end of the session, the Giza Criminal Court of Appeals decided to uphold the sentence while suspending its execution, after the court panel listened to the defense arguments of Ramadan Sobhi and confronted the player with the charges against him.

The Court of Appeal is scheduled to re-examine the case file, in terms of the facts and the proper application of the law, in preparation for deciding on the fate of the issued ruling, whether by upholding, amending, or cancelling it.

The incident dates back to last May, when a person was caught taking the exam in place of Ramadan Sobhi inside one of the tourism and hotel institutes in Abu Nimras. When confronted, he admitted to receiving a financial payment from the player in exchange for entering the committee and taking the exam on his behalf.

The complainant stated that the incident was discovered during a review of the identity verification, as it turned out that the person arrested was not the student registered at the institute, which prompted the administration to detain him, file a report on the incident, and notify the competent authorities to take legal action.
