A rare incident in the French league: a goalkeeper commits 3 serious errors and a midfielder saves a penalty kick (video

Orléans goalkeeper Charlie Yann experienced a real nightmare on Friday evening during his team's match against Sochaux in the 18th round of the French National Football League.

The young goalkeeper not only made one mistake, but fell into the trap of "three disastrous mistakes" that caused his dismissal and put his team in an unenviable position.

Charlie Yan's stay on the pitch at "La Source" lasted no more than a quarter of an hour, as the 13th minute witnessed a series of strange blunders, which began when Charlie Yan misjudged a long ball from Sochaux players, and tried to clear it, but he shot it completely wrong, sending the ball towards his own net.

In a desperate attempt to salvage the situation, Charlie Yan tripped Sochaux striker Kabete Dioko, who was through on goal, and the referee made a decisive decision to award a penalty and send off the goalkeeper.

Because there was no substitute goalkeeper on the Orléans bench, midfielder Gregory Berthe had to wear his "expelled" teammate's shirt and gloves and stand between the three posts.

In a dramatic moment, Berthe succeeded in playing the hero, brilliantly saving the penalty kick taken by Boubacar Fofana after diving to his right, amid wild celebrations from his teammates.

Despite a heroic stand, Orléans lost 1-2, with Sochaux's Kabete Dioko (27th minute) and Elson Mendes (42nd minute) scoring, while Fahd Al-Khamsti reduced the deficit for Orléans in the 87th minute.

With this result, Sochaux strengthened their hold on third place in the league standings, moving four points clear of Orléans.
