The General Chairman of the Indonesian Karate-Do Sports Federation (PB FORKI), Retired Air Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, hopes that FORKI will focus on helping build youth character through sports.This was conveyed by Hadi Tjahjanto when inaugurating the FORKI Jakarta Provincial Management.
"Character encompasses strong morals, behavior, and mindsets consistent with Indonesian values. This also reflects the contents of the karate oath," said Hadi Tjahjanto in an official statement
According to Hadi, national values are very much in line with the karate oath and therefore this correlation must be the main focus in the formation of karate characters.
Meanwhile, Governor Pramono Anung emphasized his commitment to supporting sports development, especially karate.
"No matter how many medals he wins, the most important thing is his achievement as overall champion," said Pramono Anung.
The General Chairperson of FORKI Jakarta, Major General (Mayjen) of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Herianto Syahputra said that the inauguration of this management was a trigger to be able to carry out the organization's mandate with high integrity and dignity.
"Today's inauguration of the Board of Directors is not merely a ceremonial event, but rather the beginning of a significant mandate and responsibility that must be carried out by all Forki Jakarta Board members. This mandate is shared to build Jakarta through a dignified FORKI," said Herianto Syahputra.
Previously, in the XXI National Sports Week (PON), which was held in two provinces, namely Aceh and North Sumatra, representatives became the overall champions in the karate branch.
In the future, FORKI Jakarta will focus on the achievements and character development of young athletes.
In fostering and supporting the achievements of Jakarta karate athletes, PB FORKI collaborates with the Governor of Jakarta, the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Jakarta, and the Jakarta DPRD to provide quality facilities and coaching programs.
