Bayern Munich secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Werder Bremen at the Weserstadion on Saturday evening, thanks to two goals from Harry Kane and one from Leon Goretzka.
This result means Bayern are back within six points of Borussia Dortmund in the standings.
Bayern are firmly at the top with 57 points, ahead of second-placed Dortmund, according to the Bundesliga's official website.
The hosts were bold from the start. Cameron Puertas threatened with movement on the right side of the penalty area and sent a low cross to the far post, but his teammate couldn't reach it.
Bayern gained momentum in the 22nd minute. Lennart Karl was brought down in the penalty area and after a VAR review, the referee pointed to the spot.
Harry Kane beat goalkeeper Mio Backhaus, though his shot was misjudged. Bayern took a 1-0 lead.
Four minutes later, Kane doubled the lead to 2-0 after receiving a low pass from Luis Diaz.

Bayern nearly added another goal before the half-hour mark. Kane's long pass found Diaz, who penetrated the penalty area, but Backhaus was quick to close down the shooting space.
Bremen responded by capitalizing on Joshua Kimmich's mistake to launch a swift counter-attack. Felix Agu's shot went wide of the net.
Bremen came out more aggressive in the second half. Marco Grull's header hit the Bayern post, while Jonas Urbig, coming on for Manuel Neuer, made a crucial save from Justin Njinmah's shot.
Bayern also had a golden opportunity through Serge Gnabry who was one-on-one with Backhaus, but the goalkeeper thwarted it.
Urbig again showed brilliant reflexes when he parried Romano Schmid's close-range shot.
Bayern's third goal came in the 70th minute. A left-sided attack by Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies was finished off by Leon Goretzka with a shot from the center of the penalty area that found the bottom corner of the Bremen goal.
Musiala almost added another with a low shot that was parried by Backhaus, while Bremen sent a dangerous cross to the far post in stoppage time.
